About us

Our mission is rooted in the Christian call to love our neighbour (Mark 12:31) and to welcome the stranger (Matthew 28:19). Open Arms is here to reflect these values in action, bringing people together to create a more compassionate, connected, and supportive community.

​Through our befriending service, we match trained volunteers with individuals facing isolation. Our volunteers provide companionship, emotional support, and a caring presence. We also offer social activities to help people engage with others and experience a sense of belonging. By fostering these relationships, we aim to reduce loneliness, restore hope, and improve the well-being of those in need.

At Open Arms, we are committed to listening to the people we serve and using what we learn to continually improve our services. We work closely with local partners to ensure we meet the practical, emotional, and social needs of individuals, creating a network of care that is inclusive, respectful, and responsive.
